How to Use This Site
This site provides the visitor a variety of different ways to search for
the same information. If you have a specific question, we recommend you
start with the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) located in
the blue section to the left of the page. For information regarding
the Federal EDI Standards Management Coordinating Committee (FESMCC) or the
EDI Standards Management Committee, go to the center of the home page, under
Federal Implementation Conventions, and click the committee desired.
Left Navigation
The blue area to the left, is divided into two sections:
- Search for an IC
- Inside Fedebiz
Search for an IC
enables you to access "APPROVED" EDI Implementation Conventions (ICs) based
on the information you provide i.e., version/release number, transaction
set number and/or name. Hint: You do not have to know all the information
on your IC for a successful retrieval. By providing just some of the information,
you will receive several ICs that enable you to narrow your search.
- Use the arrow to pull down the menu and select the IC version/release
number and/or
- Fill in the IC transaction set number and/or
- Enter the IC transaction set name or application name and select Go
- Click on Perform Advanced Search to search for a specific
IC or a range of ICs
Inside Fedebiz
enables you to view the topics by clicking on the titles.
Top Navigation
The drop-down bars at the top of the home page contains menus with additional
information.
Click the Home bar to return to the home page.
Click the Federal and DOD ICs bar for an:
- Advance Search on a Federal or DOD IC - allows
you to enter text information (i.e. Purchase Order, Invoice, etc.) to assist
your search
- The Federal and DOD ICs - enables you to search for only
Federal or only DOD ICs by version/release number.
Click the Resources bar for:
- Related Documents - provides documents
referred to in the EDI ICs or used in the implementations.
- Related Sites and Links - links to other EB/EC sites.
The Contact Us
enables you to contact the Fedebiz Helpdesk.

Conventions, provides information on:
- Federal EDI Standards Management Coordinating Committee -
responsible for harmonizes EDI transactions among FED agencies
- Browse Federal IC Files - enables
you to conduct a search of Federally Approved ICs.
- DOD EDI Standard Management Committee -
coordinates EDI standardization activities with DOD
- Browse DOD IC Files - allows you
to conduct a search on DOD Approved ICs
The second area, Work Group
Information provides information on each of the work groups.
