Washington, D.C. – Business Transformation Agency (BTA) staff engaged military, civilian and contract personnel this week at the Navy League’s Sea-Air-Space conference.

Sea-Air-Space is the largest maritime exposition in the world, featuring more than 150 defense industry exhibits. Seminars are led by top civilian and military leaders from the Department of Defense, Homeland Security, Maritime Administration and the defense industry.

The theme of this year’s conference was “Global Maritime Security.” Intended to complement the new national cooperative Maritime Strategy, Sea-Air-Space also advanced public understanding of the critical importance of sea power for America’s security and prosperity.

“Reaching out to the warfighter is what we do every day in the Warfighter Support Office (WSO),” said BTA’s Navy Cmdr. Thomas Gamble. “Attending these events, in addition to our Combatant Command engagements, gives us additional access to the warfighter and another opportunity to assess their requirements.”

BTA staffers from the WSO, Chief of Staff and Transformation Priorities and Requirements directorates as well as the Defense Integrated Military Human Resources System (DIMHRS) Program Office took turns engaging conference participants; reaching out to BTA partners and stakeholders; and getting the word out about the BTA, its mission and programs.

"Attending these events allows us to repeatedly meet face to face with the warfighter—hearing their concerns and sharing with them the initiatives to better support their needs," said Mark Meiczinger, Change Management and Communications Lead for DIMHRS. "A big part of launching DIMHRS is socializing it and creating the awareness."
