FEDERAL PROCUREMENT CODE LIST ONE (FP1)

I.      PURPOSE.

      This code list is used by United States Government contracting and grant activities to indicate the data expressions that are contained herein.  It is designed principally for use with Electronic Date Interchange (EDI) in either the American National Standard X12 syntax or the United Nations/Electronic Data Interchange for Administration, Commerce, and Transport (UN/EDIFACT) syntax.  It may be used in other data systems as appropriate, to include as domain values for standard data schemes or as application data. 

      This code list is maintained by the Procurement Functional Work Group and available through the National Institute of Standards and Technology.  Questions or suggestions concerning this code list should directed to Chair, Procurement Functional Group, via e-mail dlindner@hq.dcma.mil or telephone (703) 227-4599.

II.   USAGE IN X12 SYNTAX.

      The codes values in this list are compatible for use in the LM/LQ segments.  In such usage, LM01 shall cite code FG; LM02 shall cite code FP1; LQ01 shall cite code ZZ; and LQ02 shall cite the appropriate code from this list.

III.  USAGE IN UN/EDIFACT SYNTAX.

      The codes values in this list are compatible for use in composite data elements that contain UN/EDIFACT Data Elements 1131 and 3055 following a coded data element.  Data Element 1131 shall cite FP1 when using this list and Data Element 3055 shall cite the code value 188 for the National Institute of Standards and Technology.  The coded data element shall cite the appropriate code from this list.
